Uses
2-bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone is a white crystalline powder, valerone derivative. It can be used as pharmaceutical intermediates.
Preparation
At room temperature, 16.2g (0.1mol) of phenylpentanone and 30.9g (0.3mol) of sodium bromide were added into 500mL round-bottom flask, and after stirring evenly, 24g (0.2mol) of 30% hydrochloric acid was added, and 19g (0.15mol) of 30% hydrogen peroxide was added slowly. After dropping the Chemicalbook beam, the reaction was continued for 1~2h. TLC was used to monitor the reaction. After the end of the reaction, the stirring was stopped and stratified, and the organic phase was washed with saturated sodium carbonate and saturated salt water respectively. Purity 98% (HPLC method).
